Siemens Energy to Acquire Camlin Group

2 Jun 2026

Siemens Energy has reached an agreement to acquire Camlin Group, a Northern Ireland-based firm specializing in grid monitoring, analytics, and asset digitalization technologies. The acquisition, which is subject to regulatory approval, is expected to close by the end of 2026, though financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 2010 by a team of engineers in Northern Ireland, Camlin Group has grown into a global provider of technology solutions for the energy and rail sectors. The company employs approximately 650 people and generated revenue exceeding $121 million (£90 million), operating across the UK, Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia.

The acquisition is designed to strengthen Siemens Energy’s digital grid portfolio, enhancing its capabilities in sensor-based monitoring, data analytics, and software-enabled grid intelligence. With electricity networks facing aging infrastructure, higher load variability, and increasing integration of renewable energy, the deal positions Siemens Energy to offer more data-driven, condition-based grid operations.

Tim Holt, member of Siemens Energy’s Executive Board, said: “Grid expansion and digitalization are becoming decisive factors for energy security, economic growth and the energy transition. In an ever-changing market, we need to adapt quickly. That is why we are constantly strengthening and expanding our existing portfolio. Camlin Group is known for their high-quality products, skilled workforce and advanced software portfolio. Together, we can help customers move from reactive maintenance to data driven, condition based operation.”

Peter Cunningham, CEO of Camlin Group, added: “Our partnership with Siemens Energy reflects a strong alignment in values, technology and long-term vision. Siemens Energy recognises the strength of our technology, our people and our customer relationships, and sees Camlin as a natural fit within their strategy for the future grid. For our customers, business operations will continue as usual and our experienced leadership team will remain at the helm. Longer term, Siemens Energy’s scale, investment and global reach will help us move faster and deliver greater impact across our markets.”

With around 105,000 employees in over 90 countries, Siemens Energy provides a broad portfolio of conventional and renewable energy technologies, including gas and steam turbines, hybrid power plants, and electrical grids. Its wind power subsidiary, Siemens Gamesa, strengthens its position in renewable energy. For fiscal year 2025, Siemens Energy reported $45.5 billion (€39.1 billion) in revenue.
