Siemens Energy delivers 950 MW offshore wind project in Scotland

9 Nov 2020
SCOTLAND - Siemens Energy is delivering the 950-MW Moray East Wind Farm project 13 miles off the Aberdeenshire coast, including the commissioning of three super grid transformers and shunt reactors.

Three 220-kV subsea cables conduct the power generated offshore to an onshore cable starting near Banff, Aberdeenshire, which transmits it to the new onshore substation, where it connects into the grid.
Work on the New Deer onshore 20.5-ha substation site is nearing completion.
All onshore work is to be finalised in the first half of 2021.
