Siemens Energy begins construction of UK grid stabilization project

WALES, UK - Welsh Power has appointed Siemens Energy to design, manufacture, install and commission grid stabilization technology as part of the project of moving the UK grid towards renewable energy.

Siemens Energy will provide a 132 kV transformer, control and operating systems, the cooling system and auxiliary equipment for a facility located at Rassau, Ebbw Vale in South Wales.
The new plant is expected to be operational by autumn 2021, the manufacturer said in a press release.
