Seven Ganz Transformers Installed at Romania’s Vidraru Hydropower Plant

Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Plc. has completed the delivery and installation of seven transformers at Romania’s Vidraru Hydroelectric Power Plant.
The final three units, each rated at 45 MVA, have been moved into position at the plant. Ganz said the work presented logistical and installation challenges due to the site’s complex conditions and limited space available for positioning the transformers.
The installation required careful planning and coordination between the teams involved. On-site work was carried out with Electromontaj S.A., alongside Ganz’s service, engineering and project coordination teams. Hidroelectrica was also involved in the project.
According to Ganz, all seven transformers have now reached their designated locations at the hydropower facility.
