R&S Group (Rauscher & Stoecklin) has announced the sale of its non-core electrical switches and connectors business to Pfiffner Group, a privately held Swiss company. The division, based in Sissach/BL, employs 26 people and generates annual revenues of approximately $8.8–11 million USD.

According to R&S Group, the business, while stable in recent years, has limited synergies with its core transformer business, which focuses on power transformers, oil distribution transformers, dry-type transformers, and instrument transformers.

The buyer, Pfiffner Switchgear Ltd in Grenchen, Switzerland, will take over operations as they exist today, with all employees transferring to the new owner. The company plans to continue operations at the current location, ensuring full continuity for customers and preserving operational expertise.

Marcel Rüfenacht, CEO of Pfiffner Group, said, “We are proud to assume this successful business area of Rauscher & Stoecklin AG and continue to grow on a worldwide scale. The market-leading portfolio of switches and connectors complements our existing low- and medium-voltage products well. We look forward to delivering even greater value to our customers.”

The transaction is expected to close by year-end 2025, subject to customary closing conditions. The financial terms have not been disclosed. Industry analysts note that this deal allows R&S Group to sharpen its focus on core transformer products while giving Pfiffner Group a platform to expand its switches and connectors portfolio globally.
