Romanian Electroalfa Opens New Transformer Production Plant with German Partner
Romanian electrical equipment manufacturer Electroalfa International announced it will soon launch a new transformer production facility in Botoșani, developed in partnership with German company SGB-SMIT Group.
The SGB-Alfa plant, covering 9,000 sq m, will produce transformers ranging from 50 to 1000 kVA. The facility is expected to create over 200 jobs by 2027. According to Electroalfa International, the partnership aims to expand its product portfolio and establish a technological expertise center for energy equipment in the region.
Founded 34 years ago, Electroalfa International operates four production units totaling 25,500 sq m and maintains its own research and development center. The company provides medium and low voltage electrical equipment, engineering, procurement and construction services, and energy efficiency solutions, serving over 500 customers nationally and internationally.
Local media reported that the Electroalfa Group, which includes Electroalfa International, is planning an initial public offering (IPO) on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
The new factory highlights ongoing investment in Romania's energy sector and strengthens collaboration between Romanian and German technology companies.
