RMS Energy installs new WEG transformer in New Mexico

16 Sep 2021

GUADALUPE COUNTY, NEW MEXICO, USA -- The new installation is part of a larger ongoing wind energy project in the region.

RMS energy Co., LLC's crews have recently completed the successful installation of a 225MVA, 345kV WEG transformer in Guadalupe County, New Mexico. The new transformer should  support the 145-megawatt Aragonne Mesa Wind project, designed to enable 100% carbon-free electricity to be delivered to the customers by 2050 to help meet Arizona's growing energy demands.

The project is based on a power purchase agreement (PPA) between Arizona Public Service and Leeward Renewable Energy to purchase wind energy output from Leeward's two Aragonne Wind facilities over a term of 20 years.
