Rezolv Energy Taps Ganz Transformers for Key Infrastructure at VIFOR Project
Rezolv Energy, supported by Actis, has announced Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Plc. as a critical partner for Phase 2 of the VIFOR Wind Farm in Buzău County, Romania. Ganz will supply the 400kV grid transformer essential for connecting the wind farm to the national electricity grid, a vital step toward enabling the project's full 461MW capacity.
The VIFOR project, once complete, will be Romania's largest wind farm in a decade and one of Europe's largest onshore wind facilities. Alongside Ganz, PORR has been awarded the Balance of Plant contract, and Vestas will supply 42 EnVentus V162-6.4MW turbines.
Phase 2 construction is scheduled to begin in late summer 2025, with commissioning planned for summer 2027. The transformer from Ganz is pivotal in ensuring efficient and reliable grid integration to supply power to over 700,000 households.
The project is developed under strict sustainability and international standards, with a strong focus on environmental and social responsibility.
Alastair Hammond, CEO of Rezolv Energy, highlighted the importance of robust infrastructure components such as the transformer in delivering clean energy at scale.
Rezolv Energy's portfolio includes other major renewable projects across Southeastern Europe, positioning it as a leader in sustainable energy development in the region.
