Reinhausen México (RMX) delivered the first two high-speed resistor-type on-load tap-changers to the Mexican transformer manufacturer DEEMSA, which manufactured two transformers (8,000 kVA, 33/4.16 kV) filled with natural ester fluid for an offshore oil and gas platform in the Gulf of Mexico.

The ECOTAP® VPD® tap changers are a compact solution designed to meet small space requirements and are also approved for use in transformers filled with natural ester liquid, which was a safety requirement for transformers to be used on the platform.

The installation of the OLTC and programming of the voltage regulator was supported by an RMX specialist who was present during the manufacturing process of the transformer at DEEMSA.
