Reinhausen Invests $6.7 Million in Transformer Manufacturing Expansion
Reinhausen Inc. plans to expand its manufacturing operations in Gibson County, Tennessee, with a project expected to create 90 new jobs and involve approximately $6.7 million in investment.
The expansion will take place at the company’s production facility in Humboldt, where Reinhausen manufactures equipment supporting transformer production, voltage regulation, and grid automation technologies.
According to company officials, the investment is intended to support rising demand for advanced grid infrastructure equipment as utilities modernize aging transmission and distribution systems across North America.
Reinhausen, founded in Germany in 1868, first established US operations in Tennessee in 1987 before relocating its American hub to Humboldt several years later. Today, the company operates globally with approximately 5,000 employees across multiple international markets.
The company said the project will strengthen production capacity for technologies linked to transformer digitalization, asset management, and grid reliability improvements.
The Tennessee expansion follows several previous investments at the Humboldt site, including earlier facility upgrades supporting production of the company’s ETOS embedded transformer operating systems and related grid digitization technologies.
