CZECH REPUBLIC - The main transmission system operator ÄŒEPS and R&S SERW have signed a frame agreement for the delivery of high-voltage (HV) substation equipment.

ÄŒEPS is the main transmission system operator in the Czech Republic. The company is responsible for the maintenance and upgrade of 44 substations and 5,691 km (3,536 miles) of 400 kV and 220 kV transmission lines.

This is another frame contract signed by the two companies, this time for deliveries in the 2022-2024 period.

The total volume of the contract is 3 million euros ($3.4 million).

Some specifications of the project and ordered devices include:

• 420 kV 1-phase horizontal disconnectors with/without earthing switches
• 420 kV 1-phase pantograph disconnectors
• 420 kV 1-phase vertical disconnectors
• 420 kV 1-phase earthing switches

The technical specifications of the disconnectors and earthing switches and the arrangement of the devices will be tailored according to the end user's requirements, R&S said in a press release.

"The continuous cooperation between the maintenance and service departments of ÄŒEPS and R&S SERW is very beneficial for both companies and allows us to meet the requirements of our customers", stated Pavel Chalus, Sales Director at R&S SERW.

For the R&S Group, successful cooperation with longtime customers such as ÄŒEPS is very important from the perspective of further deliveries to other European transmission system operators.
