R&S Group Expands Transformer Manufacturing Capacity in Poland
R&S Group Holding AG has confirmed it is doubling the power transformer manufacturing capacity at its ZREW facility in Åódź, Poland, as part of a CHF 25 million (USD 31 million) investment aimed at meeting growing demand in the renewable energy sector.
Scheduled for completion by the end of 2026, the expansion will increase the factory's capabilities to 160 MVA and 220 kV, allowing for significantly improved service and reliability in power infrastructure solutions.
The project will create up to 200 new jobs, including roles for engineers, technicians, and sales professionals. It has also received public aid under the Åódź Special Economic Zone, highlighting regional and governmental support for industrial growth.
Eduardo Terzi, CEO of R&S Group, said the expansion reinforces the company's commitment to "driving innovation and supporting the energy sector's shift toward renewable energy." Grzegorz Sołtysiak, Managing Director of Power Transformers, added that the investment will "enhance technical capabilities" and "benefit customers with advanced solutions."
This move follows the company's acquisition of Kyte Powertech in August 2024, broadening R&S Group's market reach across Ireland, the UK, and parts of Western Europe.
