PTT Delivers Transformer for Texas Data Center Project
Pennsylvania Transformer Technology LLC (PTT) has completed the delivery and installation of a 225 MVA, 138 kV power transformer for a new data center project in Texas.
The transformer is the fourth identical unit manufactured by PTT for the facility, supporting the growing demand for reliable electrical infrastructure required by large-scale digital facilities.
The transformer was transported approximately 1,375 miles by rail and an additional 11 miles by truck before being installed at the site. The unit weighs approximately 370,545 pounds and measures 361 inches in length, 144 inches in width and 198 inches in height.
The project required coordination between transformer manufacturing, rail logistics, heavy-haul transportation and final installation teams. Mercer Technical Services supported the final installation activities.
The completion highlights the increasing role of high-voltage transformers in enabling data center expansion and strengthening power infrastructure for energy-intensive industries.
