PSEG Long Island gets approval for new transmission line

NEW YORK - PSEG Long Island has been given the green light from the New York State Public Service Commission to begin construction on the Western Nassau transmission line project.


The Western Nassau transmission line project is a seven-mile transmission line that will provide a more reliable electric system in Western Nassau County, N.Y.

The new 138 kV underground transmission line will be a second electric transmission circuit between the East Garden City substation in Uniondale and the Valley Stream substation in Lynbrook.

The project will be located underground except for portions located at the East Garden City and Valley Stream substations.
