Peru awards three transmission projects

6 Nov 2019

PERU - Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios, a subsidiary of the Spanish company ACS, has been awarded concession to build and operate three transmission lines in the northern and central part of Peru.

The company will be responsible for construction, operation and maintenance of three transmission projects - the 550 kV La Niña-Piura line, 220 kV Pariñas-Nueva Tumbes line and 220 kV Tingo María- Aguaytía line, and accompanying electrical infrastructure, including new substations in the regions of Huánuco and Ucayali, reports BN Americas.

The 54-mile La Niña-Piura line will also be the first section of the future 500 kV interconnection link with Ecuador. The remaining section of this link, the 500 kV Piura-Frontera project, will be put out to tender next year.

The completion of the projects is expected within 43 months.
