Pauwels Transformers Signs Long-term Supply Deal with Enedis
Pauwels Transformers NV, based in Mechelen, Belgium, has signed a 5 to 8-year framework agreement with Enedis, the main operator of the French electricity distribution network, for the design, manufacturing, and supply of power transformers.
Under the agreement, Pauwels Transformers NV will provide transformers for use across Enedis’ French grid and selected overseas transmission infrastructure. The contract forms part of Enedis’ long-term investment strategy linked to its 2040 development programme.
According to the announcement, the agreement reflects Enedis’ commitment to industrial investment through long-term procurement contracts aimed at strengthening and modernising electricity distribution infrastructure.
The transformers supplied under the framework will incorporate environmental requirements focused on reducing carbon footprint, improving circularity, and integrating more sustainable manufacturing practices. These design and production criteria are intended to align with broader European efforts to decarbonise energy infrastructure and improve supply chain sustainability.
Pauwels Transformers NV stated that it continues to develop transformer technologies designed to meet stricter environmental and efficiency standards, positioning the company within a network of European manufacturers focused on low-impact grid equipment.
The agreement does not disclose financial details but establishes a multi-year cooperation framework between the manufacturer and the French grid operator.
