Panama awards 230 kV transmission project

11 Sep 2020
Panama state power transmission company Etesa is looking for the contractor to build and put into operation the 230 kV Panamá III-Sabanitas transmission line and associated substations.

A commission in Panama has recommended that the contract be awarded to Agrupación Sabanita Panamá (Elecnor-Elecen) which fulfilled all bidding requirements, reports BN Americas.
The project valued up to $98.5 million is a 2,000 MVA link that will run along the Panamá-Colón highway and include gas insulated substations at each end.

The 50 km double circuit will reinforce dispatch from Colón province to capital Panama City.
