Panama approves $500m transmission line project

Panama's public services regulator Asep has given a green light for the construction of Panama's fourth 500 kV transmission line, proposed by the state power transmission company Etesa.

The planned 186-mile (300 km) transmission line is part of long-term projects outlines in the 2019-33 roadmap for Panama's national interconnected system, reports BN Americas.
The transmission link would connect the Chiriquí Grande and Panamá III substations and initially operate at 230 kV.
The total estimated cost of the investment is $500 million.
