Pakistan has installed a 220kV transformer at the under-construction 765kV Mansehra Substation, marking a significant milestone in the country's energy infrastructure. The substation, being developed by PowerChina, is Pakistan's first 765kV facility and will be the highest-voltage substation in the nation once completed.

The newly installed transformer represents not only a technical achievement but also the near-completion of civil works at the site. The project now moves into the next phase: installing large-scale equipment required for full operation.

Project officials stated that the installation was carried out with strict attention to safety and precision. Chinese engineers provided remote technical guidance, while Pakistani teams handled on-ground execution, ensuring knowledge transfer and skill development. Scheduled for completion in August 2026, the 765kV Mansehra Substation will be Pakistan's largest and most advanced power facility.
