NYPA launches Northern New York Priority Transmission Project

3 Nov 2020
WHITE PLAINS - The New York Power Authority (NYPA) has issued an invitation to co-participants for the Northern New York Priority Transmission Project (NNY Project).

The NNY Project includes the completion of NYPA's 86-mile Smart Path Moses-Adirondack rebuild, rebuilding around 45 miles of transmission eastward from Massena to the Town of Clinton, and around 55 miles of transmission southward from Croghan to Marcy, as well as upgrading several substations.
The project is expected to unlock 950 to 1,050 MW of clean energy and result in more than 1.16 million tonnes of CO2 emissions avoided annually, the company said in a press release.
