NV Energy gets approval to build 1.2 GW solar projects in Nevada

NEVADA - NV Energy received approval from the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN) for its Integrated Resource Plan to build 1.19 GW solar projects and 590 MW in energy storage capacity in Nevada.



The plan to develop three solar plants with a total capacity of 1.19GW is expected to power up to 230,000 Nevada homes, reports NS Energy.

The projects include the 200 MW Arrow Canyon Solar Project, the 300 MW Southern Bighorn Solar and Storage Center and the 690 MW Gemini Solar and Battery Storage Project.

All projects will be located in southern Nevada. The power plants are scheduled to go online in January 2024.
