MONTANA, BUTTE - NorthWestern Energy is beginning work on an upgrade of its Butte substation on south Montana Street, which should enhance reliability for 6,000 customers served by the substation.

The upgrade includes replacement of the electrical equipment, which will take place in mid-August.

The works will also include landscaping and replanting the trees that will not interfere with the transmission lines at the substation.
