CHEEKTOWAGA, NEW YORK - Niagara Transformer will open a new $3.3 million research and development center next month at its Cheektowaga manufacturing plant.

Niagara Transformer is a family-owned company employing around 100 people. Once the research center opens, the company plans to add 10 to 15 jobs, reports The Buffalo News.

The company makes substation transformers up to 50 MVA base rating, 138 kV 650 kV BIL high voltage, and 90,000 Amp secondary current ratings.
