New York Transco proposing to build 345-kV line

25 Sep 2020
New York Transco is planning to build the New York Energy Solution Project, which would include a new 345-kV transmission line.

The project would also involve replacing 2.2 miles of 115-kV electric transmission line in an existing right of way and installing a 0.8-mile, double-circuit, 345-kV electric transmission line to run between the existing 345-kV Pleasant Valley substation and a new 345-kV Van Wagner capacitor bank station, reports Transmission Hub.
Transco proposes to work with Orange and Rockland Utilities and Central Hudson Gas & Electric to develop additional, related infrastructure upgrades, such as upgrades to the Rock Tavern substation and upgrades to the Shoemaker to Sugarloaf transmission lines.
