New York State makes available $5m to help modernize its electric grid

5 Jun 2019

New York State will award $5 million for projects that will help New York integrate renewable energy in ways to improve the resiliency of the electric grid.

Project proposals will be evaluated based on how they improve overall grid performance, reduce energy costs, and support the state's clean energy goals, which supports the state's Green New Deal proposal to achieve 70 percent renewable energy by 2030, NYSERDA stated in a press release.

Funding is being offered through New York State Energy Research and Development Authority Smart Grid and Distributed Energy Resource Integration Program. It is available for entrepreneurs, clean energy companies, and researchers with solutions to integrate renewable resources more effectively.

The proposals must be received by NYSERDA by August 15.
