IQUITOS, PERU - Peruvian electricity provider Electro Oriente is expanding the Iquitos transformer station aiming to increase the power distribution capacity for more than 220,000 inhabitants of Iquitos and Punchana.

A new power transformer will be installed at the substation to improve the reliability and sustainability of the isolated electrical system of Iquitos and Punchana in order to meet a growing electricity demand in the city, reports Andina.

The transformer will be installed in July, after delivery and performance of all necessary tests.
