New AES Ohio Substation to Create Over 2,000 Jobs

9 Oct 2024
AES Ohio recently inaugurated its Fayette Substation, the largest in its history, in Jeffersonville, Ohio. The substation, completed over two years, marks the first phase of a larger project aimed at enhancing local power infrastructure. According to Tom Raga, President of AES Ohio, the project will support new companies and create over 2,000 jobs in the region, benefiting the local community.

"This will completely change people's lives by generating jobs and increasing local revenues," said Raga, referencing the substation's crucial role in powering the Honda LG Plant. He also highlighted collaboration with JobsOhio and the Dayton Development Coalition, crediting their support throughout construction.

Phase two and phase three are scheduled for completion by 2026 and 2028, respectively, aiming to further improve power reliability and resiliency for the community. Barry Lucas, Senior Project Manager, shared that these phases are strategically positioned to serve both current and future development in the area.

The substation's opening is a critical step in supporting Jeffersonville's growth, including new businesses and infrastructure.
