New 400 kV autotransformer successfully passes short circuit test

MODENA, ITALY - Italian transformer manufacturer TIRONI has successfully short-circuit tested their first prototype of the 250 MVA, 400/135 kV autotransformer.


The test was performed at CESI lab in Rondissone, Italy and the transformer, once the final checks at the factory are complete, will be certified according to client's requirements, the company stated in the release.

TIRONI is one of the few European makers of high voltage autotransformers and the unit was manufactured for the Italian transmission system operator Terna.
