Nbisiing Power Supports Napanee Battery Energy Storage System with Ontario-Made Transformers
Nbisiing Power GP Inc. has contributed key components to the Napanee Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Project in Ontario, which will provide 250 megawatts of power storage and up to four hours of electricity output during periods of high grid demand.
The company’s involvement included supplying crucial medium voltage transformers and other infrastructure elements in partnership with leading suppliers:
- 72 Ontario-made medium voltage transformers from Stein Industries Inc.
- High voltage disconnect switches from Southern States LLC
- Station service transformer from Rex Power Magnetics
- Emergency propane generator from T&T Power Group
According to Nbisiing Power, the last four of the 72 transformers have recently been transported from London, Ontario, marking a significant milestone in the project’s execution.
The Napanee BESS Project is designed to strengthen Ontario’s electricity grid by providing energy storage solutions that improve reliability during peak demand periods. Nbisiing Power GP Inc. emphasized that its role in supplying and coordinating key components highlights the company’s commitment to supporting local manufacturing and advancing energy infrastructure.
