Taiwan Power Company (TPC) has commissioned Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR) to provide a new DGA monitoring system for their transformer fleet.

For the 69 kV to 345 kV transformers, TPC used "smoke detector" DGA sensors which only measure the total dissolved combustible gas (TDCG) share in the transformer oil.

The company is replacing the old sensors with new MR DGA technology for the analysis of the operational safety of their oil-filled, paper-insulated power transformers.
