Grasim Industries Limited and Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH (MR) signed an agreement to form a joint venture company in India for manufacturing and sale of composite hollow core insulators to serve the global power transmission and distribution industry.

The new company called Aditya Birla Power Composites Limited will set up a new composite hollow core insulators manufacturing plant at Halol, in the state of Gujarat.

The production will serve the insulator requirements of Indian and global OEMs in the power equipment industry.

The new facility will be the first large scale plant for this range of products in India and the largest such plant outside of China.
