Maddox Industrial Transformer opens new Ohio location

31 Jul 2023

The new Batavia facility will primarily focus on transformer reconditioning operations and is expected to create 65 new jobs in the area.

Maddox Industrial Transformer, a leading provider of electrical transformers in the United States, has opened a new production facility in Batavia, Ohio. The facility spans 45,000 square feet and is situated in the old Ford transmission plant at 4330 Batavia Road. This marks the company's fourth major production facility, along with several sales and support offices across the country.

The new Batavia facility will primarily focus on transformer reconditioning operations and features fourteen reconditioning stations, two overhead cranes for efficient movement of units, a paint booth, and a mobile gantry crane for loading transformers in the yard. Additionally, there is a dedicated warehouse space storing reserve parts for all of Maddox's facilities, allowing for faster reconditioning and repair of customers' transformers, reducing lead times, and mitigating supply chain issues.

The expansion is expected to create 65 new jobs in the Batavia area, providing employment opportunities for 45 shop employees and 20 office employees. The company's growth has been impressive over the past eight years, serving commercial and industrial clients across the entire United States, as well as in Canada and Mexico.

Maddox expressed their enthusiasm for the new facility, highlighting the benefits of operating in Clermont County, Ohio, including the appealing cost of living, family-oriented values, and a rich manufacturing heritage. The company is grateful for the warm welcome from the Batavia community and looks forward to building lasting partnerships in the region.

With this latest expansion, Maddox Industrial Transformer aims to strengthen its nationwide transformer rebuilding operations, which have been evolving since 2015.
