LS Electric Secures $70 Million U.S. Transformer Contract for Data Center Project
LS Electric has secured a $70 million contract to supply extra-high-voltage transformers for a large-scale data center project in the United States, the company announced Monday.
Under the agreement, its subsidiary LS Power Solution will deliver 345-kilovolt-class transformers to an energy infrastructure firm supporting a major technology company. The end client was not disclosed due to a nondisclosure agreement. Deliveries are scheduled between the fourth quarter of 2027 and the first half of 2028.
The deal expands LS Electric’s role in North America’s power infrastructure sector, particularly within the fast-growing data center market. Rising demand for electricity—driven by artificial intelligence and cloud computing—has led to increased investment in high-capacity energy systems.
“Following our earlier supply of power distribution solutions, we have now been selected as a provider of extra-high-voltage transformers, demonstrating our technological reliability across the entire power spectrum,” its official said.
The contract follows a $46 million project secured in 2024, in which LS Electric provided power distribution solutions for a U.S. microgrid. The latest agreement extends the company’s capabilities into extra-high-voltage transmission equipment.
LS Power Solution, acquired in 2024, has expanded its product lineup to include 345 kV systems and broadened its global customer base. The company is also recognized as a key supplier of extra-high-voltage transformers to Korea Electric Power Corp.
Industry estimates suggest North America’s data center power infrastructure market could reach $37.2 billion by 2035.
