26 Aug 2020
MASSACHUSSETTS - Vineyard Wind, an offshore wind development company, selected Linxon to construct a substation for 800 MW Vineyard Wind 1 located off the coast of Massachusetts.

Vineyard Wind 1 is the first utility-scale offshore wind project in the U.S.
Under the contract, Linxon will provide a turnkey 220/115 kV substation that will connect the electricity generated by the wind farm to the power grid operated by Independent System Operator (ISO) New England.
Linxon is expected to commence construction in 2021, with commissioning scheduled in 2023.
The wind project will generate cost-competitive electricity for more than 400,000 homes and businesses across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is expected to reduce carbon emissions by more than 1.6 million tons per year.
