Large transformer travels through downtown Conway

14 Jun 2019

CONWAY, SOUTH CAROLINA - Roads were temporarily shut down in Conway, SC as a huge power transformer was maneuvered through the city on Thursday morning.

The transformer, owned by South Carolina's electric utility Santee Cooper, was being transported to the company's Thompson Farm Substation on Highway 701 in the Bucksport area, according to Santee Cooper spokesperson Tracy Vreeland, reports WMBF News.

City of Conway Police Department warned drivers to use caution as the machine made its way through the town.
