Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has awarded two contracts worth approximately $96 million for the construction of two substations in the Burgan field, reports Construction Week.

One contract, worth $53.8 million is awarded to Kuwait-based contractor Al-Ghanim International. The other, valued at $42 million is awarded to Heavy Engineering Industries Co.

The substations will supply electricity to submersible electric pumps in the Burgan field.
