KUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT - The Kuwait Ministry of Electricity and Water has commissioned GE Renewable Energy's Grid Solutions for the long-term maintenance of 54 substations located across the country.
The contract is the largest long-term maintenance contract won in Kuwait to date and will cover a duration of five years.
During that period, GE's Grid Solutions will ensure planned maintenance of the 54 substations, providing emergency services and supplying spare parts for preventive and corrective maintenance, GE said in a press release.
The substations are of different voltage levels, including 132 kV and 300 kV.
The project marks another step in the development of Kuwait's power generation sector, as well as the efficiency of its electricity infrastructure.
