KPT manufactures and tests 360 MVA transformer
KonÄar Power Transformers Ltd. - A Joint Venture of Siemens Energy and KonÄar, has designed, produced and tested a 360 MVA test field transformer.
The Croatian manufacturer has successfully designed, produced and tested a special 360 MVA, 50 kV/100 kV, 137.5 kV/657.5 kV test field transformer.
With a weight of 420t, dimensions 15/6.5/13 m, the unit is one of the largest ever produced by KPT, the manufacturer said in a media release.
With this unit in the test bay, KPT is able to provide a full scope of delivery for shunt reactors up to 250 MVA/550 kV, thus becoming one of the Siemens Energy shunt reactor manufacturers.
With the new portfolio element, the company aims to help its customers prepare their grid for the future.
