KONČAR Supplies Transformers for Agri-PV Project in Germany
KONČAR Group is supplying electrical equipment for a large agri-photovoltaic project in Germany covering eight districts, enabling up to 753 MVA (MWp) of installed capacity to be connected to the grid.
The project is part of the Klimapark Steinhöfel development, described as Europe’s largest agri-photovoltaic initiative. It is being developed by a major investor in agri-photovoltaic systems in cooperation with a partner responsible for constructing the transformer substation.
The infrastructure includes four KONČAR Group transformers, which will integrate generated electricity into the regional high-voltage network operated by E.DIS via 110 kV cable systems. The system is designed to ensure stable and reliable transmission of renewable energy.
Two transformers have already been delivered, installed, and commissioned as of May this year. The remaining two units are scheduled for completion in 2027 and 2028.
In mid-2024, the KONČAR Group contracted the production of four medium-power transformers rated at 125 MVA for the project. The company did not disclose the contract value or the name of the developer.
