ZAGREB, CROATIA - KonÄar Distribution & Special Transformers (D&ST) has recently tested a new bio-based transformer fluid manufactured by Nynas.
KonÄar's technical team tested a 40 MVA, 145 kV transformer filled with the new sustainable insulating liquid.
The DGA results before and after the IEC 60076-2 standard temperature rise test were fully acceptable, as were the results of the factory acceptance tests.
Oil temperatures in the unit were 10 degrees lower compared to using a synthetic ester insulating liquid, KonÄar D&ST experts noted.
Having successfully completed the tests, KonÄar D&ST is the first to implement the new bio-based fluid in a 40 MVA 145 kV transformer.
