Končar starts work on the new Ohrid substation

14 Sep 2021

OHRID, MACEDONIA -- KONÄŒAR Power Plant and Electric Traction Engineering (KET) have entered into a joined venture for the construction of the 400/110 kV Ohrid substation, as part of the investment cycle of the Electricity Transmission System Operator of the Republic of Northern Macedonia (MEPSO AD).

The construction site of the new Ohrid substation was officially opened in the presence of Macedonian and Albanian high dignitaries. Once finished, the new substation should create an international connection with neighbouring Albania at a 400 kV voltage level, which should strengthen the region's energy system.

The project will include everything from design documentation, over delivery, installation, to testing and commissioning of primary and secondary equipment, as well as the equipment of a new 400 kV bay, which will be connected to the other end of the new 400 kV Ohrid - Bitola transmission line in 400/110 kV substation Bitola 2.

This will be the fourth project that KONÄŒAR was assigned by MEPSO in the last three years.
