KPT delivers transformers for Iberdrola’s Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm

1 Jul 2021
GERMANY - Končar Power Transformers Ltd. - A Joint Venture of Siemens Energy and Končar, has manufactured two 300 MVA transformers for Iberdrola's Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm.

The 476 MW Baltic Eagle wind farm is located 18 miles northeast of Rügen island off the coast of Pomerania, Germany.  Once in service, the wind farm should supply enough renewable energy for 460,000 households and help avoid the emission of 800, 000 T of C02 each year.
The Croatian manufacturer Končar Power Transformers has supplied two 300 MVA transformers for the offshore wind project. The units are to be delivered to the shipyard during the summer.
The manufacturer has collaborated on the project with Siemens Energy in Denmark and Spain.
"With this delivery, KPT has crossed the 3,500 MVA mark of offshore transformers produced for various customers in Europe," said Branko Tomic, Sales Manager at KPT.
This project with Iberdrola marks another step in KPT's contribution to the sustainable energy mix, bringing renewable energy to households in Europe.
