Končar Delivers Instrument Transformers to Germany’s Wibres Energietechnik
Croatian engineering group Končar has delivered instrument transformers to German company Wibres Energietechnik, expanding its presence in the German power sector.
The delivery was carried out by Končar – Instrument Transformers and includes current and voltage transformers rated at 123 kV. The company did not disclose the value of the contract.
Instrument transformers are used in electricity networks to measure high voltages and currents and to ensure the safe operation of power systems. The delivered units are part of Končar’s Green Line product range, which uses biodegradable insulating fluids to reduce environmental impact.
The delivery follows Končar’s successful supplier qualification with German energy company E.ON in 2025, which enabled the company to enter projects in the German market.
Končar reported that it worked with several new customers in Germany in 2025, securing contracts for around 80 instrument transformers. The trend has continued in 2026, with new orders for approximately 60 additional units at the same voltage level.
Končar – Instrument Transformers is a specialised manufacturing company within the broader Končar Group, focused exclusively on the design and production of instrument (measurement) transformers used in power systems.
