Croatian electrical equipment manufacturer Koncar Elektroindustrija announced that its subsidiary, Koncar D&ST, has delivered a 75 MVA power transformer for the Clonin North solar energy project in Ireland. The solar plant, currently under construction near Rhode village in County Offaly, is planned to have a capacity of 70 MWp.

Once operational, the plant is expected to generate approximately 33,730 MWh annually, enough to supply electricity to over 8,000 households. The project aims to reduce COâ‚‚ emissions by more than 16,000 tonnes per year, supporting Ireland's commitment to achieving 80% renewable electricity by 2030.

The site spans around 70 hectares of agricultural land and will use bifacial solar modules on fixed mounting structures to maximize energy production.

Despite this development, shares of Koncar Elektroindustrija and its subsidiary experienced slight declines on the Zagreb stock exchange. On the latest trading day, Koncar Elektroindustrija shares dropped 1.85% to 532 euro, while Koncar D&ST ordinary shares fell 0.32% to 3,070 euro, and preferred shares decreased 0.66% to 3,000 euro.

This project reflects ongoing efforts in Europe to expand renewable energy infrastructure and demonstrates the role of specialized electrical equipment suppliers like Koncar D&ST in facilitating this transition.
