Croatian electrical equipment manufacturer Koncar - Elektroindustrija d.d. said its unit Koncar – Distribution and Special Transformers has completed the manufacture, installation and commissioning of a 115 MVA medium-power transformer for a wind farm project in the German federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The wind farm is being developed in the municipality of Schonwalde in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald. As part of the grid connection infrastructure, a new 115/21 kV Stolzenburg substation is under construction. The company did not disclose the value of the contract or the project timeline.
In a separate project, Koncar said the same unit will manufacture and deliver 83 transformers with voltage levels ranging from 110 kV to 330 kV for the rehabilitation of five hydropower plants owned by PJSC Ukrhydroenergo.
The transformers are intended for equipment replacement where required, including in cases of ageing infrastructure or damage. The contract was awarded through a tender procedure conducted as part of the hydropower rehabilitation programme.
The rehabilitation project is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Koncar did not provide financial details regarding the transformer supply agreement.
