Kerun Launches Integrated Transformer and Substation Platform for AI Data Centers
Chinese power equipment manufacturer Kerun Intelligent Control has launched a new integrated transformer and substation solution designed specifically for high-density AI data center infrastructure.
The modular platform combines transformers, prefabricated substations, switchgear, and intelligent monitoring systems into a single package aimed at improving reliability in high-heat environments, including regions such as the Middle East.
According to Kerun, the system is engineered to address operational challenges associated with AI workloads, including harmonic distortion from server loads, continuous high-temperature operation, and rising power density demands.
Key technical features include a K-Factor harmonic-resistant transformer design intended to reduce overheating under non-linear load conditions, and an FR3 vegetable oil-based insulating fluid option designed to improve fire safety and thermal performance. The solution also supports redundant configurations for mission-critical loads and can be customized by voltage level and environmental conditions.
The platform incorporates an intelligent monitoring system that provides real-time operational visibility and supports predictive maintenance strategies.
Kerun stated that the solution is intended to meet increasing demand for resilient and adaptable power infrastructure in AI-driven computing environments. The company also supplies equipment across utilities, renewable energy, and transmission sectors, including energy storage systems and EV charging infrastructure.
The launch reflects growing convergence between power transmission technologies and data center infrastructure, particularly as AI workloads place increasing stress on grid-connected and behind-the-meter power systems.
