The Turkistan region, located in southern Kazakhstan, plans to invest over 60 billion tenge (110 million USD) in its energy sector modernization by 2029. Current investments in the region's energy infrastructure have already exceeded 6.9 billion tenge (12.6 million USD).
The investment program includes the construction of new power lines, reconstruction of existing networks, implementation of innovative technologies, and upgrades aimed at improving energy reliability for millions of residents.
Key projects comprise the construction of a 110 kW Ortalyk-Yassy power line, valued at 3.8 billion tenge (6.9 million USD), reconstruction of a 110 kW line in the Oradabassy district, and renovation of low-voltage mains at 31 facilities with an allocation of 1.5 billion tenge (2.7 million USD).
Additionally, the region has an investment plan of 5.3 billion tenge (9.7 million USD) to renovate 84 transformer substations, rebuild over 240 kilometers of power lines, upgrade the substation in Tortkul village, and construct a 110 kW line between Shaulder and Tortkul.
This regional initiative forms part of a broader national effort to revitalize Kazakhstan's utilities sector, which requires an estimated 6.8 trillion tenge (12.5 billion USD) in investments.
