Kahramaa commissions all five substations for 2022 FIFA World Cup stadiums

DOHA, QATAR - Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has officially opened and energized the last of the five substations which will supply electricity to 2022 FIFA World Cup stadiums.


With the commissioning of the new substation, Kahramaa has now completed the project to energize FIFA World Cup stadiums with a total cost of $220 million, reports The Peninsula.

The substations are designed to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the stadiums following high international standards of safety and security.

The new substation, Ras Abu Aboud-2, is equipped with four transformers with a capacity of 40 MVA each.
