John D’Angelo Named President of Kinectrics, Succeeding David Harris
Canadian engineering and energy services company Kinectrics, a division of BWX Technologies Inc. (BWXT), has announced that John D’Angelo will succeed David Harris as president of the company, effective May 9, 2026.
D’Angelo currently serves as Kinectrics’ chief nuclear officer and has been with the company since 1986, beginning his career as a student before advancing through a series of technical and executive leadership positions.
According to the company, the leadership transition is part of a long-term succession planning process aimed at supporting continued growth and operational stability across Kinectrics’ global energy and infrastructure services business.
“The Kinectrics team will be in good hands with John D’Angelo in this leadership role,” said John MacQuarrie, President of Commercial Operations at BWXT and director of Kinectrics, in a company statement. MacQuarrie cited D’Angelo’s extensive experience within the organization and knowledge of the company’s business segments as key factors behind the appointment.
Outgoing president David Harris will remain involved with the organization in a consulting capacity focused on international growth opportunities in Europe. Harris has led Kinectrics since 2003 and oversaw a period of significant expansion that the company said resulted in more than 600% growth through acquisitions, geographic expansion, and increased market share.
Kinectrics provides lifecycle management, engineering, testing, and inspection services to utilities and energy infrastructure operators worldwide. The company employs more than 1,300 specialists and has operations spanning nuclear power, transmission and distribution infrastructure, and broader electricity sector services.
The leadership change comes amid continued growth in global nuclear and grid infrastructure investment as utilities and governments seek to modernize aging power systems, expand low-carbon electricity generation, and strengthen energy security.
Industry organizations and energy sector stakeholders have publicly acknowledged the transition, with several noting D’Angelo’s decades-long experience within Canada’s nuclear and electricity sectors.
Kinectrics has recently expanded its involvement in advanced nuclear and energy infrastructure projects, including partnerships tied to fusion energy research, high-voltage transmission systems, and nuclear component testing services.
