JFE Shoji Power Canada Appoints Jason O’Neil as President and CEO
JFE Shoji Power Canada has appointed Jason O’Neil as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2026.
O’Neil brings more than 25 years of experience in manufacturing and operations leadership. In his new role, he will oversee the company’s Canadian operations, focusing on strategic growth, operational performance, and maintaining standards in safety, quality, and productivity across multiple facilities.
The leadership transition follows the retirement of Ron Harper, who is stepping down after three decades with the company. Harper will continue to support the organization in an Executive Advisor capacity, working with the Canadian leadership team and international partners.
Under Harper’s leadership, the Burlington-based manufacturer expanded significantly, growing from a 40-person steel processing plant into a 500-employee operation. The company is recognized as North America’s largest producer of transformer cores and supplies electrical steel products used in power generation, transmission, electric vehicle motors, and related infrastructure.
The appointment comes as demand continues to grow across the electrical grid supply chain and power infrastructure sectors. O’Neil said the company is well positioned to meet increasing market needs with efficient and reliable products.
JFE Shoji Power Canada, headquartered in Burlington, Ontario, manufactures wound, amorphous, and step-lap transformer cores, as well as other electrical steel products serving utilities and industrial markets across North America.
